Well, Freesoul, there are two wide categories of people in life in two levels of awareness..you and I and a lot others in the level of awareness of the road to reality.. others are stuck in a level where they only see a few inches away from their feet, they refuse to see further and they reject any other different than themselves.. including us!! Not only, the envy us and may fight us…
There are still some who are not aware of the road to reality but they are decent enough not to reject us.. they respect and accept us yet choose to stay where they are..
What you’re saying is true but it only applies on the unaware people.. (correct me if I’m wrong)
And it is VERY IMPORTANT to identify the kind of people are you dealing with.. where do they belong in the awareness cycle..
As for your other point.. there are somethings in life that we do not choose.. and the wisdom behind since there is a reason for everything that happens to us is as follows:
Those things are in our lives so that we learn from them.. that is their role in our lives.. we cannot ignore them, we tend to runaway and see them as enemies but the point is that they are there to help us grow the hard way.. again.. you take it and grow or you keep running away and lose….
Other than the things that are forced on us.. life gives us what we want my friend.. if we go for it. If you don’t go for it, you don’t get it and if you think you won’t get it of course you won’t.. getting what we want needs strength, determination, faith and courage..
If you’re talking about other humans then they have to be in the same level of awareness we are or at least.. accepting us…
I am speaking out of practical experience of my life..
I hope that I could make my idea clear..
I will post a review from the movie “Matrix” which was a main source of knowledge about the idea of the awareness and the struggle to truth..
the awareness philosophy can be considered another view for the quote :
Mankind always sets itself only such problems as it can solve
which means in this case to dream of what you can do, or what you see possible, that is a “limited” dream!
Yes, I belong to those who see reality and realize it, yes i know some others live in fancy world but there must be something in between to open the mind for dreams first and then try to find solutions for them, the problem is the amount of disappoint of upcoming failures that may happen later
about what life gives, as you see, you can say you have what you want to have and insist on, another view for the case is that you insist on what you believe you will have, that is why you succeed in it
alot of philosophers believed in the other view, they see that it works the other way, as a network engineer, i have a very funny story about the other view of life:
for long time, IC technology was growing fast, a man came out with an equation that govern the growth of the market with time, now most of the people connected believe that this equation proved success only because large companies were keen to comply with it, that is why they adjusted their own growth to be as neer as possible from this equation, as an overall, the equation looked accurate for decades now !!!
did you see my point? we move to what we think possible, that is why we realize it, you don’t see a man with wild imagination very much and when we see him we mostly call him a crazy man, but wild imaginations is not all the time doable and many times it fails
finally, I still have wild imagination that is killed all the time by my view for reality, what i do hope is to find some way in between, I want to keep this eager imagination but don’t want to bear the consequences of disappoint all the time
I got your point.. it is true that we limit ourselves with our believes.. and that is why we should go beyond our minds’ limits like the socalled “crazy”.. we will fail once, twice, 3 times but we WILL make it.. others thoughout history has.. and we are no less than them.. only if we believe we are..
It’s quite complicated! It’s quite comlex.. I mean the idea we can go around it on and on and on.. yet.. I tell you they call me “crazy” and I’m proud of it.. and you know what? Sometimes I stop and ask myself: WHAT AM I DOING? I AM CRAZY.. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I’M DOING SO.. HOW I DID IT.. AND HOW DARE I KEEP DREAMING.. cause my dreams grow in size and depth as I go on!!!
And the outcome is beyond your imagination..
I suppose-at this point-it is easier to talk than write!!
